Main informations about festival 2026

Thank you for respecting the accommodations: keep it clean before you leave and smoke outside (under French law, smoking inside is prohibited). We (helpers and Eddy) clean houses during and after festival, so more quickly we do that, more time we have to do another thing.

All breakfast services are located in “Maison des Associations” main room (see location on map), it’s at 800m from where you sleep, just remind to show your “Artist Pass” when you will ask food:

BREAKFAST 09:45am to 10:45am

For lunch and dinner, it will be in restaurant or bar in Arzon, for every one. You will be drive after classes to lunch/dinner place and back after.

LUNCH 01:00pm to 02:45pm

DINNER 07:30pm to 08:45pm

  • Saturday → Le Marcellin
  • Sunday → Le Cargo

Every day during lunch, you will be given seven “token drink” to exchange for free drinks in pubs flagging the Irish flag (where sessions run), not others. Thursday night, you will also be provided with a “BWS restaurant ticket” (30€ voucher), to exchange for dinner in the restaurant of your choice, with Irish flag as well. About “token drink”, each pub give one pint of “festival beer” for two tokens.

You will have some keys to open your apartments. Please ensure you keep them safely and avoid misplacing or losing them (it cost 30€ for each key at the festival). Be careful, night is young in Arzon. In line with France’s Green policy, town hall turn off the street lights every day at 11:30pm except on the harbour. Therefore, flashlights are highly recommended.

The “After” will take place in “Le Marcellin” (see map for location), and will remain open until 6am (start time: midnight for sessions and 9:00pm for Céili). Drivers can drive you back to the accommodations until 1am (last travel). The 9-seater van of festival was rented for that, you can ask to the driver to drive you back (don’t forget to ask him his phone number). Your accommodations places are described on list/map joined to this letter. There is taxi cab between 1am to 6am (+332.97.53.94.06). The big car has 6 seats inside and it cost 15 euros for travel. “Le Marcellin” to your sleep houses (Tindio Campsite) is about 1.7kms.

For classes, please leave it as clean as possible and forward the information to your students, it’s very important to keep it for future (Town Hall is very strict). The sound check is usually the day of your concert in “Azureva” but sometime not, check the timetable sheet to be sure.

The Brittany Winter School has a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of sexual or gender-based violence; our goal is for everyone to feel safe throughout the festival. Please keep in mind that alcohol can escalate these situations, and we ask everyone to stay alert and look out for one another.

For the duration of the festival, a dedicated SGBV (Sexual and Gender-Based Violence) support team will be active on-site. The team is coordinated by Sophie, Airelle, Maïwenn and Alizée, four fiddlers who will be taking part in the sessions.

A dedicated « Sis BWS 2026 » WhatsApp group will be set up for any women who would like to join. During the festival, you can request help via this WhatsApp group and someone available will come to assist you. You are also welcome to respond to requests for help from others in the group.

Full details on how the group operates will be pinned to the top of the chat. To join the group, please speak to Sophie, Airelle, Maïwenn or Alizée, or ask any member of staff to introduce you to one of them.

If you experience sexual assault (unwanted sexual remarks or physical contact), sexual harassment (repeated unwanted advances), or rape (non-consensual penetration), you are not alone; please reach out to us. These are criminal offences under French law and must not be minimised.
